God is a Healer as well as a Deliverer. What does that mean you might ask. Well, many of you already know my story. I was brought up in the church, however I strayed away and did my own thing. Kind of like the prodigal son and was “out there” with rioteous living. I’d gotten involved with smoking and drinking alcohol and I also was in a lot of unhealthy relationships. I had an abortion in my twenties. But through it all. God has delivered me from many of the bad habits of my past. Thankfully, I stopped smoking and drinking after I rededicated my life to Christ. Because once you give your life to Christ you don’t want to do the things you used to do or even go to the places where you used to go anymore. We used to club hop but that got old after while as well.
I used to think that being a Christian was boring until a friend of mine invited me to her church. It was so much fun- the music was upbeat and they were always doing something exciting like a Valentine’s dance, a fashion show or something to keep the kids off the streets. Then I realized that church was not boring at all. It was life changing.
I’m so grateful that God showed me a better way of life. I was on the road to destruction and didn’t even know it. It took someone letting her light shine for me to see the big picture.
God uses different people in different seasons of our lives to help us return to Him. Sometimes you hear people say, “I found Jesus!” Jesus was never lost. He’s been there all the time and He wants to have a personal relationship with you. I know that God is a Deliverer. If you are struggling with any type of addiction whether it’s drugs, alcohol or even if it’s compulsive eating, I encourage you to give it to Him. Whatever situation you are going through, it’s not a surprise to God. He already knows about it. He’s a burden bearer and He says in the Word to cast your cares on Him for He cares for you (Psalm 55:22). Pray and seek His guidance, get into a bible believing church. He wants to deliver you, heal you and restore you for good. It doesn’t take a whole lot, just the faith the size of a mustard seed.

God is the God of all seasons and for all times. When you begin to examine the names of God they become more meaningful. The different names of God reveal something about His character and attributes. These names were given to God by Himself. “Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:3. He often reveals His character and nature through His names as in “The Holy One of Israel”.
- Jehovah- The self existent One, the Great I AM. According to Genesis 2:4 God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in it.
- Jehovah Elohim- God Almighty. He is the God who started it all and created the universe by speaking it into existence. Hebrews 11:3 says “By faith we understand the worlds were framed by the word of God (Elohim) so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
- Jehovah-Jireh- The Lord will provide. In Genesis 22:14 Abraham built an altar unto God because He provided a ram in the bush in substitution for the sacrifice of His son, Isaac. Abraham named the place “The Lord will provide.” “And it is said to this day, on the mount of the Lord, it will be provided.”
- Man of War-In the book of Exodus we read how God set the Israelite captives free from the hand of Pharoah. The Egyptians were swallowed up by the Red Sea, however, the Israelites were saved. Exodus 15:3.
- Jehovah Rophe-The Lord Who Heals. After the Egyptians were delivered from being in slavery for 400 years they were in the wilderness on their way to the promised land. They came to a place called Marah (which means bitter) and they could not drink it’s waters because they were bitter. They murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” Then Moses cried unto the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree which when he cast into the waters the waters were made sweet. There the Lord made for them a statute and an ordinance and there he proved them saying, “If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord your God & will do what is right in His sight, and will listen to & obey His commandments & keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon you which I brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the Lord Who heals you. That’s when they knew God in a whole new way. He was not only their Deliverer but their Healer as well. The same God who healed then still heals today. Exodus 15:23-27.
- Jehovah Nissi- The Lord our Banner. The Israelites fought with the Amalekites at Rephidim. As it states in Exodus Moses held up his rod unto God and the Israelites prevailed. But when Moses got tired and lowered the rod, the Amalekites prevailed. So the other men helped Moses hold his hand up with the rod. Then Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the sword. So in that place Moses built an altar because God was on their side. Moses called the altar, The Lord my Banner. God told Moses that He would utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek because his hand was against the Lord and he would have war with them from generation to generation. Exodus 17:15 (the only time it is used).
- Jehovah Shalom-The Lord our Peace- Gideon was appointed to deliver Israel from the Midianites. When he asked God for a sign God proved Himself by consuming by fire the meat and the unleavened cakes which he had set upon the rock. The Lord spoke to him to be at peace and not to fear. He told him that he would not die. So in reverence to God’s grace Gideon built him an altar and called it, “The Lord is Peace.” Judges 6:24.
- Jehovah Rohi-The Lord, My Shephard… As Psalm 23 illustrates David is a Shephard who cares for his flock, he protects them from the ravenous wolves, even to the extent of pulling them out of their teeth and slaying the beasts. God also defends the saints from all hurt, harm and danger because He knows that we all have the need to feel safe and secure. He knows what we long for because He created us. We are indeed safe and under His protection and care both night and day.
- Jehovah Tsidkenu-The Lord our Righteousness. Jeremiah 23:6 The Lord revealed Himself as the Lord our Righteousness in the old testament. The people were far from sinless or guiltless. On the contrary they were in the process of being led into captivity for their idolatry, sin and unfaithfulness to God. They had hardened their hearts and God passed judgement on them. However, it’s consoling to know that because of His plan of redemption He will bring us back to right standing with Him if we repent. We are not righteous in and of ourselves, but we are covered under His righteousness.
- Jehovah Shammad-The Lord is Present. This refers to Jerusalem. God has a great love for the city of Jerusalem, a place where He is worshipped by the Jews and where he dwelt in the temple that Soloman built for him. When the ark of the covenant was placed in the inmost holy place the Lord told Soloman concerning His temple in Jerusalem “My eyes and my heart will be there perpetually.”1 Kings 9:3 , Ezekiel 48:35.
- Yahweh – “is the proper name for the God of Israel. The Bible describes Yahweh as the one true God who delivered Israel from Egypt and gave the 10 Commandments. ‘Then God spoke all these words. He said I am Yahweh your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you lived as slaves. You shall have no other gods to rival me. Yahweh revealed himself to Israel as a God who would not permit his people to make idols or follow gods of other nations, or worship gods known by other names. ‘I am Yahweh, that is my name; I will not give My glory to another or My praise to idols. Yahweh demanded the role of the one true God; Yahweh is one: and you shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.”(Wikipedia.org)
- Adonai- means the Lord who is God.

When God’s servant, David, was under great pressure it caused him to become depressed and upset. But he fought the pressure as he gave His persistant problems and petitions to the Lord. He knew God to be a problem solver, and not only that but a friend. Just as we talk to our family and friends God always desires for us to talk with Him. When we praise God under pressure He is pleased because we are acknowledging His Sovereignty and our dependence upon Him.
In these tough economic times it is comforting to know that God is not only a friend and a protector, but He is provider. Philippians 4:19 tells us that He will supply all of our need according to His riches in glory. I’m thankful and truly grateful for a roof over my head, clothes on my back and for food on the table. This is because of God’s grace and mercy and not anything that I have done.
So I encourage you to cast all of your cares on Him, because He cares for you. There is not a second, a minute or an hour that goes by that the Lord does not know about. He cares all about you and your circumstances. You are not alone. Ask for His guidance, Seek His face and Knock on the door of His heart and He will move on your behalf.
Additionally, give Him thanks and praise for what He has already done. He will meet you right where you are if you only BELIEVE. Like the saying goes, “Let go and Let God”. But more than that “Let go and TRUST God. He won’t let you down.

What is Biblical Hope?
“…Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him,
my Help and my God.~Psalm 42:5
******************
How many times have you heard someone say, “I hope it doesn’t rain today” or “I hope
my team wins the game”? This perception of hope is merely a wish for something to happen
with a casual expectation that it will actually manifest. This is the opposite of biblical hope.
The definition of biblical hope is “confident expectation”. It is a life giving force that motivates and energizes the Believer.
It is also one of the greatest spiritual gifts. “Now these three remain faith, hope and love…” I Cor. 13:13.
One of my favorite hymns is “On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand”. The song writer wrote ”My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus blood and righteous, I shall not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on
Jesus name. On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand, all other
ground is sinking sand.”
Understand that unless you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you
are on sinking sand. Jesus Christ is the Solid Rock. He is our firm foundation and He is the hope of my Salvation.
It reminds me of the childhood story about the 3 pigs. One built his house with straw, the other
with sticks and the third one built his house with bricks. The big bad wolf (I liken him to the devil)
was successful in blowing down the houses of the pigs except the one who built his house with bricks.
In Psalm 127 the bible says that unless the Lord builds the house the builders labor in vain. Unless
the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. Simply put we should look to God
for His protection and providence. Everything good comes from Him.
I stumbled upon a quote that says “The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something
to love, and something to hope for.”~Allan K. Chalmers.
Something to Do: Pray that God will guard you and your loved ones.
Something (or someone) to love: Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind and soul.
Something to hope for: Hope that when He returns you won’t be found “on the bar room floor”.
Jesus loves each and every one of us and He wants a relationship with us. I dare you to try Him.
He will never leave us nor forsake us!

“Never, never, never give up!”~Winston Churchill
Hello and thank you for stopping by. I have just a few thoughts that I wanted to share with you in the area of healing. I feel like I have been through an ordeal over the past couple of years. I heard someone say that where we are in life is a matter of our own doing. However, I am so glad that I am not bound to my past mistakes since I have been forgiven for them. I believe that we all want to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And throw some good health in there, too. I am a firm believer that God is a Healer. One of His names is Jehovah Rapha. In the bible there are many examples of how He healed many people from various conditions and diseases and He still heals today. I was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndome) about twelve years ago. When the medical community said that there was no cure for it I sought out to find the best remedies and treatments available to try to get some relief. If you haven’t ever had a digestive condition it may be hard for you to understand what it entails. My aim is to be completely healed and set free from this debilitating condition. I have no doubt that what I have been through has taught me valuable life lessons and has helped me grow stronger. And when I come out of this God will receive the glory for my story. I’m not going to bore you with frivolous details of the disorder but just imagine your most embarrassing moment and muliply that times ten.
Thankfully, though, when God makes us a promise to restore us, you can depend on it. Believe it and you shall receive it. He will bring His Word to pass. It may not be the way we expect, but it will happen if you trust Him.
When I was at my lowest point God sent me an Angel who had the insight and ability to help me through it. He will bring us out of any and every circumstance. Psalm 34:19 says many are the affliction of the righteous but the Lord delivers them out of them all. All means all.
I said all of that to say that if you have been struggling with something and you are still trying to find your way don’t give up! It’s always darkest before the dawn. No matter what the situation is please know that God has the wisdom, the abilility, the insight and the foresight to see you through it. He is the author and the finisher of our faith. He has a purpose and a plan for your life. You are significant to Him and He loves you very much. Set your goals and work toward them. Ask Him for guidance and He will help you. I believe that with faith and persistence you will make it through. Not only do I believe in you but God believes in YOU!
Have a blessed and empowered day.

Once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you are a part of the family of God. You are accepted in the eyes of the Beloved.God has a plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Rest assured that God loves you. Do not listen to negative voices that try to negate you. God’s word is true. You can do what it says you can do, be what it says you can be and you can have what it says you can have. Below are some affirmations to declare over your life. God is not a man that He should lie. Believe and receive the promises that He has for you!
You Say-It’s too hard. God Says-You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. Phil 4:13.
You Say- I need someone to complete me. God Says-You are complete in Him. Col 2:10.
You Say-I don’t feel forgiven. God Says-If you confess your sins He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9.
You Say-I’m not good enough. God Says-You are accepted in the eyes of the Beloved. Eph. 1:6.
You Say-I’m a nobody. God Says-You are the apple of His eye. Deut. 32:10.
You Say-I’ll never get well. God Says-You are healed by the stripes of Jesus. I Peter 2:25.
You Say-My friends let me down. God Says-I’ll never leave you, nor forsake you. Hebrews 13:5
You Say-What I’ve done can’t be forgiven. God Says-You are justified. Rom. 5:1.
You Say-I’m too shy. God Says-You have power, love and a sound mind. II Tim. 2:7
You Say-I’m nervous. God Say-I’ll give you peace. Phil 4:13.
You Say-I’m too tired. God Says-I will give you rest. Matt. 11:28.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.
Hello world! This is my first blog on wordpress.com. My topic today is about peace. Usually when people think about peace they think about the absence of war or conflict. The kind of peace I’m speaking of is God’s peace or peace of mind. The above verse is a popular one which gives us a promise about the peace of God.
You’re probably thinking, how can we do this when there are so many negative things going on in the world today? Every time you turn on the news or read the newspaper you will see bad things happening. Unfortunately, this is the case. However, we do not have control over most of those things. But we do have control over how we respond to the situations in our lives.
About eight or so years ago, I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. However, I believe that God is healing me of it as I learn to let go of those things that I have no control over. Sometimes we hold on to baggage from the past that needs to be released. Past failings or regrets, past relationships, and so on. We need to LET GO of the past and remember that each new day is like a clean slate.
Think about what God is saying about His peace~
- Do not worry about anything
- Tell Him about everything
- Give Him thanks
When we pray, we should be giving our cares, worries, stress and baggage all to Him. He cares about what is going on in our lives. Even the things that we feel are insignificant. Should we pray about a dental appointment? Does God care about my child’s first day of school? Everything that concerns you, concerns God. Turn it over to Him. Pray about it and trust that He will help you with it.
Lastly, give Him thanks. Be thankful and expect Him to answer your requests. In fact, we should praise Him in advance, before we see the outcome. The main thing is to believe that He will answer your prayers. There’s a saying that says “If you’re going to pray, don’t worry and if you’re going to worry, don’t pray.”
If we concentrate on this scripture, commit it memory and meditate on it, it will help you. His promise to us is His supernatural peace, which passes all understanding. I encourage you to try it. It can’t hurt, it can only help. Trust in the promises of God. Let Him give you the kind of peace that only HE can give. Why not experience it today?
